MA in English (Intersectional Studies in Linguistic and Literary discourses)

Main Objective:

The main objective of the master program is to advance research and scaffold students in the
development and application of theories, methods and practices related to the study of linguistic and
literary discourses

Specific Objectives

  • Familiarizing students with main theories related to analyzing linguistic and literary discourses
  • Developping techniques and methodologies of analyzing discourses
  • Training students to benefit from the intersectionality characterizing studies in linguistic and
    literary discourses

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge :

  1. Identify discourse analysis theories and associated practical applications
  2. Identify the different opportunities offered by linguistic and literary discourses to develop
    critical thinking in the learner
    Skills (know-how):
  3. Generate new and innovative research ideas
  4. Define general and specific research objectives and their associated learning outcomes
  5. Identify the resources and references required for a given research project and develop
    the corresponding action plan
  6. Conduct an assessment of the challenges and opportunities offered by each research
    method and demonstrate a capacity to assess the feasibility of their relevance
  7. Demonstrate an ability to set up a language evaluation scheme and any enhancement or
    corrective measures

  8. Show a positive attitude towards the adoption of new pedagogical approaches
  9. Actively engage and be responsible in the implementation of a research project to achieve
    the objectives set
