Accreditation Project

University of Kairouan Department of English Year 1 English Language Program

The department of English has launched its accreditation project with the American agency CEA

“An English language program or institution, its administrative and teaching staff, and its students benefit directly from involvement in a comprehensive assessment of how effectively the program or institution meets its stated mission. By evaluating the quality of its programs and services with respect to the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions, which were drafted and approved by professionals in the field, the program or institution can gauge its effectiveness against benchmarks set by the profession. Through the on-going annual reporting and reaccreditation process, programs and institutions continue their commitment to high quality.”

The English department is a part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities which belongs to University of Kairouan. The university is under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher education. The Department of English reports and abides by the regulations and decisions put by the faculty Dean, Scientific Council, and Sectorial Committee of English (appointed by Ministry to assess quality of teaching, decide on relevance of programs, and recommend changes in curriculum, syllabus, methods…). The Department is headed by a Head who is responsible for the management of staff, groups, courses, assessment, quality, and other support programs.
