National Diploma in Translation

This training aims to train graduates able to practice general translation in three languages ​​in different professional contexts.

  • Consolidate linguistic knowledge in the language of specialization (English)
  • Acquire the basic skills necessary for the practice of translation – Master the techniques of translation

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the training the license holder must:

Knowledge (knowledge):

  • Identify the different linguistic and extralinguistic convergences and similarities between the three studied languages ​​(Arabic, French, English)
  • Know and master the basic concepts and the different translation processes
  • Know the basic concepts in various fields related to translation (law, economics, ICT, multimedia …)

to be able to:

Skills (know-how)

  • Use the tools necessary for translation and terminological resources
  • Understand, analyze and interpret different types of texts in order to translate them.
  • Master the technological translation tools (applications, software, digital dictionaries, etc.)
  • Detect and deal with the different linguistic difficulties (lexicons, semantics, rhetorics) and extralinguistics (divergences, cultural nuances)
  • Produce a suitable translation of a text from a source language into a target language.
  • Revise and evaluate a translation.

  • Respect the codes of ethics
  • Take the initiative to position yourself on the national and international market
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a team
